Can’t say enough about the benefits of Lakeshore Lactation. Donna is the best! I found her seven years ago for my daughter Sienna and she continues to be an amazing resource for our growing family. Donna has helped all three of my children nurse like champs. My girls needed help with reflux and fast let down of my milk. Most recently my son had a lot of clicking when nursing and gas so I consulted with Donna and she recommended a wonderful oral surgeon to correct my sons lip and tongue tie and within hours of the procedure I am already seeing a difference! It’s such a comfort to know that she makes herself so available, motherhood is stressful enough. I can’t wait to attend one of her seminars locally to learn more. - Laura C.
Donna was amazing! We recently brought our 3rd child home and breast feeding was the least of my concerns since I had 2 previous successes in that department. My third was a game changer. She didn't latch correctly and I was in so much pain ready to give up. In the first 5 minutes Donna was at my house she helped correct her latch, discussed various topics revolving around breast feeding and developed a care plan specific to my daughter's needs. Well worth every penny! - Kristen
I first met Donna at a free breastfeeding class at Baby's R Us. She was the guest speaker for the evening, and both my husband and I learned so much! Not only did she talk about the benefits, she also gave me the confidence that I could do this.
To begin my testimony, I gave birth to a baby girl a month after Donna's talk. My daughter had oral thrush, but it didn't stop her from breastfeeding. As a result, I had severe pain from the thrush, which made it very difficult to breastfeed. Thank goodness for Donna's help! She taught me what thrush was, and helped prevent my daughter and I from worsening our conditions.
Donna also recommends the most homeopathic remedies to treat you. I remember when my milk supply was teetering low, that she gave me many options to chose from; to help increase my supply.
It also helped to have her close contact, when I felt exhausted from keeping track of how much my daughter was getting. Donna's persistency on making sure my daughter was feeding frequently from me was good, and I needed that encouragement to breastfeed my daughter.
Because of her, my daughter and I are still enjoying 'our time' together. Best of all, Donna is with you for life.
I contacted Donna 4 days postpartum when I was having bad pain while nursing my son. I spoke to her on a Thursday afternoon, and she was in my home on Friday morning. Donna was kind and encouraging throughout our entire session. I immediately felt comfortable with her. She was quick to diagnose the problem and gave me a list of options to help fix the problem. She was extremely knowledgeable and well informed. Before she left, with a strategic plan in place, she reviewed all information and doubled and tripled checked that I felt confident executing the new strategies. Donna never made me feel rushed, and stayed well beyond our scheduled meeting. Over the course of the next few days Donna reached out to check on me several times. She was also immediately available to talk when I had questions for her. My husband and I were thrilled with Donna’s services and we would highly recommend her. Thank you Donna for all that you did for our family!! - Jennifer W

As I approach my twins' first birthday, I want to thank you again, Donna. You were a life saver! I called Donna in a panic the day I got home from the hospital with my twins and she made time to see me the very next morning. I was upset, tired, frustrated and overwhelmed. Donna's calming presence put me at ease immediately -- transforming what to me seemed like an impossible task, to something that I could totally do. Its because of her that I didnt give up that first week and because of her help, I had the confidence and renewed determination to bf my twins and did so for 4 months. Something I never thought possible. I recommend her to everyone I know. Thank you, Donna!! - Alycia K.
Donna came to my home twice within the first month my son was born in July. I was having latching issues and needed help with the basics. Donna came the next day of calling her on a Friday and I was so grateful because I didn’t want to hang on until after the weekend. Donna immediately noticed that my son had a tongue tie which was most likely making nursing difficult. Each time she came she was patient and kind and made what felt daunting at he time seem simple and wonderful. She gave me hope that I could breast feed my son successfully. Each time she left, I was left with a handful of information to use and practice and when Donna followed up with me afterwards, I felt that she truly cared. Her passion clearly shines through in all she does and says and I highly recommend her. My son and I are exclusively breast feeding four months later!! - Sarah
Hey Donna, was just thinking of you as I was posting in one of my pumping Facebook groups. A lot of women who exclusively pump had bad experiences with their IBCLCs and I wanted to thank you for being so supportive and trying to help me when I was really struggling. As an update- I’ve been exclusively pumping for a few months now (Lulu is 5mo), and she hasn’t had any formula for over 3 months! I produce an average of 32 ounces per day, she eats 26-30. We tried to get her to latch for awhile but it was clear she was much happier with the bottle. I was thinking that while I know your job is to help women to nurse directly, if someone really can’t do it exclusively pumping is definitely a lot better than giving up and switching to formula. - Jesse
Our beautiful baby girl was born on a Wednesday and my husband & I brought her home 2 days later on Friday. I started breastfeeding in the hospital and everything was going well. However once we got home, feeding became more challenging. Our baby girl was crying every time I would try to breastfeed. My husband & I took the classes, read the books, & prepared as much as we could before our baby girl arrived. Everyone & everything made it seem that breastfeeding would be a breeze. And since things went well in the hospital, we expected it to continue when we got home. But by Saturday morning we knew we needed help. Feeding was not going as smoothly and we all were stressed.
I found Donna online. I contacted her that Saturday and she was able to visit the next day which was a Sunday. During our initial phone call, Donna immediately made us both feel more comfortable. She provided us with advice & guidance to get us through the night until she could meet with us the next morning. During Donna’s visit, she weighed our baby girl, evaluated how I was breastfeeding, how much I was producing, and how our baby girl fed & responded. She provided us with enormous amounts of knowledge and options. She never made us feel that we were incompetent or inferior. Donna also assured us that breastfeeding was not the only way to provide nourishment or to bond with our baby girl. She made us realize that the most important things were making sure our daughter was fed & thriving and that we were all happy. She reassured us that we could use whichever method we were most comfortable in bonding with & feeding our precious baby girl.
My husband & I highly recommend Donna. She was very kind, readily available, and full of ample knowledge. Most importantly Donna provided great guidance, comfort, and support so we could care for & enjoy our new baby girl. She is amazing!
